THG joins The UK Plastics Pact

THG is part of The UK Plastics Pact initiative, run by WRAP, and supported by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.

The UK Plastics Pact is a trailblazing, collaborative initiative that will create a circular economy for plastics and ensure that plastics do not end up in the environment. By bringing together the entire plastics value chain behind a common set of ambitious targets, it will move us towards a system which keeps plastic in the economy and out of the environment. It will encompass innovation, research and new business models to rethink and redesign what packaging we put on the market in the first place, and how we can encourage more re-use of packaging.

As a member, we have committed to working collaboratively with others to achieve the following targets by 2025:
 *   Eliminate problematic or unnecessary single-use packaging through redesign, innovation or alternative (re-use) delivery models.
 *   100% of plastic packaging to be reusable, recyclable or compostable.
 *   70% of plastic packaging effectively recycled or composted.
 *   30% average recycled content across all plastic packaging.

In addition, as part of our Group 2030 sustainability strategy, we have a target for 70% of packaging from our third-party brands to be recyclable, reusable or compostable by 2025. We have also set a target for zero waste to landfill by 2030.
